Advertisement of Vacancy for Amcotts Parish Council for the position of Parish Clerk
Amcotts Parish seek a clerk to carry out the administrative duties of the Parish. The role involves, preparing agendas, minutes and public notices in accordance with the Local Government Act and attending and minuting meetings, usually held in the St Marks Church, currently via Skype due to Covid. Taking queries from members of the public and dealing with correspondence. Supporting the council in its legal duties to the Parish, posting notices and liaising with the RFO Responsible Financial Officer to ensure accounts for payment are made on time and he has the necessary information to produce the annual parish accounts.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate
A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, be prepared to learn how to upload documents to the webpage.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Be prepared to use their home as an office, it is expected that the applicant will have access to a Computer, phone and printer, any expenses of stationery items and ink will be re-imbursed.
Be prepared to act as the Community Liaison with the Local Authority in the case of an Emergency
Previous experience of administrative role would be advantageous
Be prepared to undertake training, ilCA (Introduction in Local Council Administration) and commitment to CilcA the professional qualification in clerking Certificate in Local Council Administration. The Council will pay for training courses and materials.
The role is 8 hours per month at the current pay rate of £11.96 per hour. Meetings are held in the evenings and are usually bi-monthly
